I wish you could see the way your eyes light up when you’re happy.
It’s so good to see you happy.
To watch your smile make its way from your mouth to the corners of your eyes,
While your hands make their way from my stomach to my hips,
Your fingers writing love songs on my skin.
Maybe it’s silly that I write you poetry,
But it’s the closest I can get to letting you see the way you love me.
And it’s easier to tell you how much I love you,
When it’s lines and verses,
Instead of rushed conversations.
The only thing I’d change is time.
I wish we had so much more time.
I wish you could spend hours running those fingers across my body,
Hours with your lips on mine,
Your hips on mine,
Bodies tangled up like a knot that no one can undo.
